Drawing with John Strickland

This week's workshop, held by John Strickland, was portraiture in pencil.
Some eight members and three guests attended and armed with a revision of proportions and techniques to gain likeness, were able to produce some credible images.
We had come with some 'homework' which was critiqued: a chair and an egg!

Once more it was an enjoyable FHAS event.

Thanks Maureen and Rob for the photos.

Drawing competition

DRAWING COMPETITION – 24 APRIL AT 7 PM

Just to remind you -  Please note the following:

·        Bring your work to be exhibited no later than 6.45 pm and please cover your name

·        You may bring up to 3 works

·        Works must be mounted or displayed in a decent sketch pad

·        ONLY black graphite pencils may be used

·        There is no theme for this competition

The works will be judged at 7 pm by all the members present – not an easy task but keep in mind that size does not always count.  This competition is more about tonal values and a pleasing subject.  Good luck

You will be pleased to know that we are no longer charging for tea/coffee and a biscuit.  Please let Maureen know if you would like refreshment when you sign in.

Hope to see you all on Wednesday
